A Massage Chair Administers Shiatsu Massage Like Human Hands
Posted by Jack Harada in fitness on April 18th, 2010
Shiatsu massage has been performed to ease and relieve aches and pains throughout the body. Traditionally, shiatsu massage has been performed by skilled therapists. Robotic massage chairs are now available that replicate the shiatsu massage technique. These shiatsu massage chairs deliver full body acupressure and shiatsu massages. Some advanced models scan the body for to accurately locate acupressure points and customize the massage to the individual.
Shiatsu is a massage technique originating over 5,000 years ago with roots in traditional Asian medicine. The technique has parallels to acupuncture, but without needles. Instead, pressure is applied to specific point in the body. Shiatsu is based on manipulating the flow of energy throughout the body. Shiatsu is thought to help restore the balance in the body. The shiatsu massage technique uses gentle stretching along with applying a rhythmic and gradual pressure using a kneading motion. Shiatsu uses certain pressure points along certain meridian or pathways that related to specific organs in the body. Shiatsu literally means finger (shi) and pressure (atsu) or finger pressure. The use of a finger pressure massage is used to regulate the flow of energy in the body. A shiatsu massage induces deep relaxation, increases the energy flow and brings the body back into balance.
The evolution of technology has seen advances in mechanical systems designed to perform shiatsu techniques incorporated into massage chairs. Since the beginning of time shiatsu massage has been performed by humans in traditional medicine. The mechanical systems integrated into current shiatsu massage chairs realistically imitate hand and finger movements. Amazingly, the integration of electronics and software controls make theses mechanical fingers do many functions. Human contact has many subtle movements which are difficult to copy, but machines on the otherhand do not get tired.
The mechanical systems in massage chairs imitate the movement of the thumbs, hand and fingers of a masseuse. These massages include rubbing, kneading, percussion and vibration. Gentle pressure is applied to the acupressure points to induce relaxation and tranquility throughout the body. The shiatsu therapy can range from gentle or firm and use low or high pressure depending on the needs of the individual.
Shiatsu massage chairs help to relieve many conditions, ailments and symptoms. Do not suffer any longer and find relief to many ailments and symptoms with a shiatsu massage chair. It can help stimulate circulation and improve skin health. Use a shiatsu massage to reduce muscle pain and soreness, or warm down after physical activity. Increase stamina because a shiatsu massage metabolizes fat to increase nutrition flow.
The soft touch of the human hand. Certainly, there is nothing like it. Robotic massage chairs are making headway, but the living hands are complex to match. Shiatsu massage chairs do have some non-human advantages. They just do not tire, they are always available waiting for your command. You can relax to music, enjoy a massage synchronized to the music and warm up your muscles with the heating system. Treat those aches, pains and soreness in the comfort and convenience of home. A shiatsu massage chair does not require an appointment, just show up and push the On button and just relax.

How I Chill While Living In A City
Posted by Jill Neptune in fitness on March 12th, 2010
Living in a large city can be a very distracting lifestyle, it so easy to get caught up in it. Everything seems to happen at a rabbit’s pace and you can hardly keep track of anything.
I felt like I was drowning in it and it was not until I lost my job that I fully realized this. We all exert our best efforts to achieve things and perhaps make a name for ourselves. However we must not forget that giving ourselves time to unwind and relax is just as important.
Here are three means of relaxation that I found to be quite effective and this should work for you as well.
One of my favorite ways of unwinding is a hot warm bath. If you have the means to enjoy this in the convenience of your own homes I encourage you to do so more often.
Nothing can be as soothing as a hot warm bath after a stressful day. They can be physically and emotionally rejuvenating. You can tune in to your favorite music while slipping in.
Reading a book can also do wonders. You can work on having you and your friends read the same book within a month and gather at the end of the month in order to discuss it. Reading a book can be truly enjoyable and so is discussing what you’ve read with a couple of friends over coffee.
Lastly, running is also a great way to unwind. Well it is may seem stressful at first glance but I often feel a deep sense of relaxation after a great run. Sleeping has been a lot better and I feel physically great when doing my runs.
I personally prefer jumping right in to a soothing warm bath right after a good routine run that keeps me feeling great all day.
Besides relaxation, this writer also frequently blogs regarding ice hockey bags and the neck heat wrap.

You Can Overcome Panic Attacks By Taking Small Steps
Posted by Pascal Athlo in fitness on November 8th, 2009
The difficult part about panic attacks is that they can occur when you least expect them. You will not be prepared to deal with them when they occur.
You might be busy with some work or might be having fun with friends. Suddenly, you get a panic attack!
This might cause you to become fearful of engaging in the activity which you were doing at the time of the attack.
Good news for you is that, the even, place or activity may not have anything to do with the happening of panic attack.
You don’t need to avoid those places or situations where you fear you might face another attack. You can go on living a normal life.
If you live as usual and don’t let panic attacks hamper your life in any way, soon they will lose their power and will stop troubling you.
The initial courage may be the difficult to muster up. For this reason, do not try to take big steps to tackle your problem.
You are better off, taking small actionable steps which can help to overcome panic attacks. As an example, if you are afraid of going shopping, take a friend along with you who is aware of your disorder.
If the doctor has prescribed any pills for you, keep them handy just in case. This way, you will feel more confident in going to places where you fear another attack.
Don’t try to go alone. Don’t try to become too brave all of a sudden, as it might backfire. But start taking little courageous steps about which you feel comfortable to a certain extent.
Keep reminding yourself whenever you can that panic attacks are not dangerous. You get a feeling as if you are about to have a heart attack. But that is just a feeling - you are not having a real heart attack.
I haven’t come across reports of people dying from panic attacks. So, it is safe to assume that they are not dangerous. We only perceive them to be.
Once this is ingrained in your mind that panic attacks are not dangerous, you will feel little bit more safe. You will know that even if another attack happens, it is not going to cause any real damage to you.
Remember to take small, manageable baby-steps that develop more courage in you and move you in positive direction. Do not attempt something big suddenly, but go about it gradually.
After some time, you may no longer fear panic attacks. At this point, they may fade away on their own!
Please remember that avoid taking pills or medication for this problem as much as possible. Only take them when the problem gets seriously out of hand or you are really fearful.
It is better to opt for natural treatments or behavior therapy in order to overcome panic attacks. These kinds of treatment are better in the long run as pills can cause health problems.

It causes cancer and / or severe cardiac diseases to everyone who smokes continuously.

Stress Management Control: Periodic Massage Chair Treatments

There is so much stress in our lives in this modern era that we live in. We are hit from all sides whether from home or from work. These pressures seem to be increasing. In previous eras danger from physical harm was the major cause of stress. This acute type of stress caused what is called the fight or flight reaction. We are under less physical danger these days as stress has shifted to more mental stress. The type of stress has changed, but not our reaction to it.
This reaction to stress causes the body to kick itself into high gear. Our heart rate is increased, the major organs shut down all but the most basic functions and adrenaline is pumped out to boost our energy. There is a major redirection of chemical reactions in the body to get it immediately ready for action. However, with many of the stresses we encounter there is no physical release to all this redirection of energy. This can be problematic since many toxin are the by product of these chemical reactions and these stay in the body.
Stress comes from so many different situations, that we are not able to eliminate its causes. Rather we need effective stress management techniques. Professional athletes are able to redirect the build up of stress into ways to enhance their performance. This is a very positive way to deal with the build up of stress.
